In September 2021, LCap was engaged by a leading founder-owned biomedical testing business that was first established in 2012. The business had successfully achieved growth under founder ownership, expanding into the US via acquisition and taking on minority, early stage venture capital investment. The business was looking to continue its track record of growth and work towards Private Equity investment in the future.

Using Leadership Dynamics, the leadership team of the business, led by the founder-CEO and all at a relatively early stage in their respective careers (mostly early to mid 30s), was able to evaluate and benchmark their leadership team in order to determine the effective structure and experience profile that would enable the business to execute their value creation plan and see the business scale rapidly. They also gained an in depth understanding of the behavioural dynamics within the team and across key functional groups which highlighted key development needs to enable the team to maximise its potential.

As a result of this work, the founder-CEO was able to implement informed development plans with key individuals across the leadership team and was able to understand how to most effectively optimise the experience, structure and behavioural profile of the leadership team ahead of future investment rounds.
